“Let’s use Google, Meta and perhaps TikTok.” That lists places we might appear. It does not explain each platform’s role, the intended outcome or whether the assets and infrastructure are ready.
The same platform can be used for different objectives. The same commercial objective may require more than one type of intervention. That is why promotion strategy starts with the business problem and the customer’s journey.
We don’t just choose the places where we buy attention. We choose how we support moving from discovery to a relevant action and, when it makes sense, to an ongoing relationship.
The business goal and the platform objective
“We want projects that fit the team’s capacity” is a business aim. “Lead generation” is an objective category in some platforms. Connecting them requires defining a useful inquiry and how to recognize it.
Optimizing for a button click sends a different signal from a confirmed inquiry. If reliable data and suitable conditions exist for a later stage, such as a qualified opportunity, consider that signal too. The button was clicked. Did the inquiry arrive? explains why implementation matters.
Do not automatically choose the event furthest along the sales journey. Delays, volume and data quality affect whether it is useful for optimization. The objective needs to be relevant and technically supportable.
What roles should be covered
| Role in promotion | The audience’s question | Possible type of intervention |
|---|---|---|
| Discovery | Is there an option for my problem? | Clear message and relevant example |
| Understanding | How does it help me and when is it right? | Explanation, demonstration, comparison |
| Evaluation | Can I trust you and what does it involve? | Evidence, process and conditions |
| Action | What is the next step? | A page and a way to get in touch or buy |
| Continuing the relationship | What’s useful after the first action? | Relevant service communication and marketing |
This model helps with planning. People do not necessarily go through the steps in order, and a single asset can serve several roles. A complete funnel means covering the important needs, not automatically multiplying campaigns.
What should the promotion be able to do?
The actual journey may include returns and steps in a different order.
DISCOVERY
Make a relevant option visible.
UNDERSTANDING
Explain how it helps and when it’s right.
ASSESSMENT
Provide evidence and explain the conditions.
ACTION
Support contact or purchase.
CONTINUATION
Keep the relevant relationship after the first action.
Illustrative framework. Application depends on the project’s context and data.
How to choose platforms
We analyze where demand can be met, which format can explain the offer, what data is available and what the budget can support. Active search, scanning a feed and reading an email create different contexts.
We do not assume that the audience belongs to a single platform. Nor does its presence on several platforms automatically justify investing in all of them at once. We choose a combination we can run and evaluate, taking into account production resources, landing pages and sales.
We check the conditions of current advertising products. In PMax, for example, an audience signal does not strictly limit delivery to that segment. The strategy has to work with the campaign’s real mechanisms. Google Ads: PMax audience signals
Budget includes more than advertising space
Producing assets, adapting formats, pages, measurement and management all require resources. If we spend the entire budget on advertising and cannot explain the offer or receive inquiries correctly, distribution amplifies an existing problem.
We separate costs and dependencies so we can make an informed decision. Some investments prepare the launch; others recur. Not all projects need the same volume of production or the same data architecture.
Connect a test budget to the question and the conditions needed to learn something useful. “That is what we usually spend” may be a poor fit for demand, costs or the decision cycle.
An example of a choice between interventions
Imagine a service business with enough page visits but few suitable inquiries. Options include increasing traffic, rewriting the ad or clarifying the offer and eligibility on the page.
The first decision depends on the diagnosis. If people arrive for another need, we check the message and distribution. If the offer is relevant but the terms are missing, the page may take priority. If inquiries are good but go unanswered, the sales process needs analyzing.
What is holding the result back?
Example: enough visits, but few suitable inquiries.
DISTRIBUTION
Are we reaching people whose needs match the offer?
PAGE
Can they find the information they need to assess the offer?
HANDLING
Do inquiries receive an adequate response in time?
Fictional example, not NOT MORE. results or forecasts.
That is why promotion cannot be evaluated only in the ad interface. The work includes connecting it to what happens after the interaction.
Several messages, one logic
One message can explain the problem, another can show a difference, and another can clarify the first step. These variants should not contradict the position or offer.
Communication strategy defines what needs to be understood. Promotion strategy decides where to distribute it and what each setting should achieve. Creative work adapts the assets to formats and platform requirements.
We do not change every variable at once if we want to understand what made a difference. Equally, we do not isolate an artificial test when the real problem requires repairing the whole journey. The method follows from the question.
What is approved before launch
Direction, campaigns and materials are approved within the collaboration before activation. Approval covers commercial terms, messages and elements representing the business, with clear responsibilities.
After launch, an owner or colleague not seeing the ad personally does not prove a delivery failure. They may be outside the eligible audience or simply not have received an impression. I cannot see my ad. Is something wrong? explains the checks.
Assess delivery through data and results against the objective. Approving assets and checking delivery are different stages of the same process.
When we review the plan
We can adjust an execution, a page or an allocation without changing the whole strategy. A broader revision makes sense when data contradicts important assumptions or when the business’s offer and priorities change.
We establish from the start which indicators we follow, what period is relevant and what information decisions need. Neither a good day nor a weak day alone explains the outcome of a system with several components.
How we work at NOT MORE.
We connect the commercial goal with messages, channels, assets, pages and measurement. The plan reflects the budget and delivery capacity, then evolves with what the implementation teaches us.
A good promotion strategy makes the investment understandable: why each component exists, what depends on it and how we decide what comes next.
The plan includes execution and what we learn from it
Promotion is one part of marketing. The marketing mix also includes the offer, price and distribution, while the channel mix explains where communication supports the chosen roles. This distinction helps us see whether we need more distribution or a change in what we offer the customer.
NOT MORE. can deliver creative direction, materials, pages, campaign setup and measurement, followed by the agreed management, optimization and reporting. Budget and time are allocated across these activities according to the objective and what already exists. If only one component is missing, we can deliver it individually.
Your team confirms the offer, capacity and investment. We agree initial approvals and limits on later adjustments. A good report continues the plan: what was implemented, what we observed, what changed and which decision we need to make together. Direction stays connected to the work itself.
