AI & automation

AI is widely available. Experience shows in the choices.

Expertise often lies in knowing what to ask, which paths to avoid and when a result is ready to use.

You can generate a text, an image or a first page structure with the tools you have available. For many tasks, this is a very good starting point.

You can use AI yourself and involve a specialist in the same project. Decide which parts you can create and verify confidently, and where experience could save time or rework.

You still need to decide whether the result is right.

  • What is missing?
  • What needs to be corrected?
  • What information is wrong?
  • What seems convincing but does not meet the project’s needs?

Experience can matter at this point. It should show through the work and the decisions, rather than being assumed from seniority or a job title.

What someone with experience can notice more quickly

A designer may notice that a headline will be difficult to read on a phone. A communication specialist may question a promise the product cannot support. A marketer may see that the message attracts people the business cannot serve.

For a website, experience can help anticipate form errors, content requirements and dependencies between pages and integrations. For an AI image, it can help distinguish an appealing visual effect from an unwanted change to the product.

These observations have value when they improve a decision or prevent rework. Expertise still needs to be current and demonstrable. Knowing a tool does not establish competence in every kind of project.

A decision in which experience becomes visible

Suppose you have generated a good product image. A specialist asks where it will be used and notices that the plan needs both a finished banner and assets for responsive ads. They propose two applications of the same direction: a composition with copy, and clean images with separate text assets.

The value is practical: the asset list fits the planned campaigns, the product is represented accurately and missing components are found before launch. Experience shows in anticipating requirements and explaining the solution, supported by current documentation and checks in the platform.

Total cost includes your time

When comparing doing the work in-house with hiring a specialist, use the same brief and verification standard. Then estimate direct costs, working time, coordination and possible rework.

The example below is hypothetical. Amounts are compared on the same basis, excluding VAT. In the collaboration scenario, the specialist’s tools are included in their fee.

NOT MORE. / EXAMPLE EXPLAINED

Cash paid and the value of time are separate costs.

Assumption: customer time is valued at RON 150 per hour. Amounts exclude VAT.

  • Do it yourself

    • Direct expenditure RON 100
    • Time and assumed value 10 hours / RON 1,500
    • Economic cost: RON 1,600
  • With a specialist

    • Direct expenditure RON 1,200
    • Time and assumed value 2 hours / RON 300
    • Economic cost: RON 1,500
Two full cost scenarios that separate the money paid from the hypothetical value of the customer’s time.
Total cost includes your time
ElementDo it yourselfCollaboration with a specialist
Direct expenditureRON 100RON 1,200
Customer time10 hours2 hours
Assumed alternative value per hourRON 150RON 150
Value of time usedRON 1,500RON 300
Economic cost in the modelRON 1,600RON 1,500

In this example, collaboration frees up eight hours and reduces the estimated economic cost by RON 100. It also requires RON 1,100 more in direct cash spending. Those are separate considerations.

The RON 150 hourly value is an assumption about an alternative use of time, not a universal rate or guaranteed income. If the freed hours cannot be used productively, the estimated saving does not automatically become money.

When doing it yourself makes sense

For a simple, occasional task that is easy to check, doing it yourself can be efficient. If you want to learn and will use the skill repeatedly, that time can also have long-term value.

Personal interest, the control you want and the available budget matter too. Not everything needs outsourcing. A useful specialist can help separate what your team can handle from the parts where their help would make a difference.

Collaboration becomes more relevant when the deadline is close, many materials need to stay consistent, requirements are hard to verify or the cost of an error is high.

Why repeated attempts can be costly

Each change of supplier can mean another brief, more explanation and further checks. Rework can consume the team’s time and delay publication. Do not assume those costs apply to every cheaper or less experienced provider, though.

We can reduce the risk with a clear brief, acceptance criteria and a well-defined first project. We compare the approach and outcome, then decide whether to extend the collaboration.

How to recognize relevant experience

Ask for the reasoning behind a choice, an example of a problem identified and how the solution was checked. What would they keep from your work, what would they change, and why?

A professional should also recognize the limits of their contribution. If the problem is the offer or the ordering process, a new image may have only a small role. Saying so makes the advice more useful.

At NOT MORE., we aim to add value through a clear brief, considered choices and a verified result. Efficiency includes avoiding work without a useful purpose.

Three questions for your decision

  • What can I achieve and realistically verify with the resources I have?
  • What would I actually do with the time this collaboration frees?
  • What evidence shows me that the partner understands the problem and can solve it?

What should stay in-house, and where would help make a difference?

Tell us the result you need, the deadline and what you have already done. We can help define the part your team takes on and the part where working together makes sense.
